Ryan Bowers picked up his second win of the season when he won the opening night of the 13th Annual Mighty Axe Nationals at the North Central Speedway on August 30. Bowers got the lead when Lee Grosz and Tony Norem crashed together on lap 23 in turn two. Bowers locked up the 2014 GRP Motorsports Rookie of the Year title and currently sits second in the over all point standings behind 2011-2012 champion Jerry Richert, Jr.

About the UMSS

Jerry Richert, Jr. of Forest Lake passed race leader Ryan Bowers on lap 20 and went on to record his third win of the season on the second night of the 13th Annual Mighty Axe Nationals at the North Central Speedway on August 31. For Richert, it was his second career Axe trophy. Richert leads the season series points over Bowers coming into the final weekend on September 5-6.
